IJGT travels to New York for AB Golf Designs Junior at Ravenwood Golf Club

– The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is set to travel to Victor, N.Y., for the AB Golf Designs Junior at Ravenwood Golf Club  May 4-5. This event will feature elite junior golfers ages 9-19 from around the world competing for national recognition and IJGT Merit Points.

Ravenwood Golf Club is an award-winning course located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. The 18-hole, par-72 course features 6,654 yards of golf from the longest tees with a Course Rating of 73.7 and a Slope Rating of 138. Designed by Robin Nelson, ASGCA, the Ravenwood Golf Club opened in 2002.

In the Boys 15-19 Division, Matthew van Niekerk  of Rochester, N.Y., returns to the IJGT after having success earlier this season. Van Niekerk has two top-10 finishes this season, including a seventh place finish at the Labor Day Classic at Hershey Country Club. Van Niekerk is looking to capture his first IJGT Title.

William Thomson of Pittsford, N.Y., looks to build on his very impressive season. With 10 top-three finishes, including five IJGT Titles, Thomson is currently number one in the IJGT Merit Standings in the Boys 14 & Under Division. Another player to watch out for, Ben Reichert  of East Amherst, N.Y., has not finished outside of the top-five this season, including an impressive third-place finish at the Western Pa. Major at Nemacolin last weekend. Reichert is looking to build on his past success, and to take home his first IJGT Title at the AB Golf Designs Junior.

In the Girls Division, Emily Doyle of Horseheads, N.Y., has competed in five IJGT Tournaments this season. Doyle has had a lot of success this season with three top-five finishes. Most recently, Doyle had a very impressive third-place finish at the Western Pa. Major at Nemacolin and is looking to make a breakthrough in her home state.Ravenwood Golf Club will be open for optional practice rounds and IJGT registration, Friday May 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The event will begin Saturday May 4 with tee time beginning at 10 a.m. and will end with an awards ceremony recognizing the top-three finishers with trophies and tournament gifts immediately following the final round Sunday, May 5.
